Description   Hand made Leather School Satchel with a Maori design - This satchel is made from 100% New Zealand cowhide and features a large internal pocket. The leather is 2.5mm thick. The leather is carved, dyed and stitched by hand, a process which takes many hours. The design of this bag incorporates features of traditional Raranga (harakeke/flax weaving) and Kowhaiwhai. The Kowhaiwhai design on this bag is based on the Koiri design which means “to flourish”. Patrick James Design will make a satchel to your specific needs using carved designs in consultation with you.
