Hei matau fish hook deer horn pendant

Description

Hei matau fish hook deer horn pendant - This Matau deer horn pendant has been hand carved from the shed deer button of a New Zealand stag. In the example pictured it has a paua button. It is also available with a greenstone button or plain, depending on your preference.

Width: 1.25 inches / 3 cm, Height: 2.25 inches / 6 cm

The pendant was initialled on the reverse side by the artist. It comes with a standard 54cm cord with a bone or horn toggle. It is also supplied in its natural surround with a leather backing. Note that the weight given below includes the surround

This pendant is available as a double. The second pendant is usually smaller in size. Doubles are sold at twice the price of a single of the same design. They also weigh approximately .5oz (10-15 gms) more. Please advise if this is your preference.

For Maori the Hei-matau or Fish Hook shape represents strength and determination and brings peace, prosperity and good health. It also provides a safe journey over water.
