Earrings

Bone was important for Maori. It was hard, durable and easy to work. It was used for chisels, fish hooks, spear points and many other tools. Bones used were Moa (a large flightless bird long extinct), seal and human. Maori believe that once you wear a piece of bone next to your skin, some of you passes into the piece and the piece becomes one with you.
